Job Description
The VP will be part of the team responsible for the origination, structuring, and advisory of Project Finance transactions for BBVA’s U.S. client base, as well as supporting the activity of the global Project Finance team. Analysis of trends and market conditions in the Project Finance markets across the U.S. and preparation of internal and external market updates. Assist in the preparation of marketing material and proposals for existing and prospective clients.
Responsibilities
Credit Underwriting, Due Diligence, and Financial Analysis of project finance opportunities in infrastructure and energy
Preparation of marketing materials for client pitches and idea generation
Preparation of Information Memos and Lender Presentations for lead role opportunities and coordination of bank meetings
Managing the diligence process from a technical and legal standpoint and overseeing the structuring process through deal closing
Portfolio management and information reporting on in process transactions and closed deals, including interaction with finance on fee recognition
Interaction with other teams within the BBVA Group, especially the global Project Finance teams
Maintenance of internal reports and their distribution to the appropriate areas.
Understanding and development of financial modeling, financial statement analysis, derivative instruments
Oral and written presentations for client marketing and internal purposes.
Client meeting participation and follow-up
Preparation and monitoring of the loan closing process
Identification and use of research and tools
Participation in due diligence and legal meetings
Education/Experience

Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or related field
5+ years of experience working in corporate and/or investment banking related to Project Finance and/or experience in construction energy firms related to project finance
Formal credit training a strong plus
Fluent in English a must, strong preference for Spanish fluency
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to work in a team environment and under tight deadlines
Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, financial modeling and DCF analysis
Proficient in ALL Microsoft Office Tools
Strong Excel and Powerpoint necessary, Bloomberg a plus
