Job Description

The ability to work on multiple application development projects serving in a hands capacity while maintaining multiple production environments. Responsibilities

* Maintain production SQL Server instances
* Install and maintain Always On Availability Groups
* Ensure data security using SQL Server Technologies
* Write complex stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and T-SQL
* Collaborate with system engineers, frontend developers and software developers to implement solutions that are aligned with and extend shared platforms and solutions
* Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring, and Testing Techniques
* Tune T-SQL queries. Conduct performance tuning query optimization reviews for projects
* Perform production database administration tasks such as backups, restores and maintenance routines
* Build a variety of data loading & data transformation methods using multiple tools and technologies.
* Design & build automated Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) jobs based on data mapping specifications
* Manage metadata structures needed for building reusable Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) components.
* Analyze reference datasets and familiarize with Master Data Management (MDM) tools.
* Analyze the impact of changes to downstream systems/products and recommend alternatives to minimize the impact.
* Derive solutions and make recommendations from deep dive data analysis proactively.
* Ensure meta data quality by using Data Quality (DQ) rules through code or MDM.

Qualifications

* At least 5 years experience administering SQL Server databases in development and/or production environments
* A minimum of 8 years of experience working on T-SQL/SQL Server experience working on T-SQL/SQL Server
* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent (STEM)
* Performance Tuning SQL Server Instances
* Extensive T-SQL Programming Skills
* Experience using High Availability Features such as Always On
* PowerShell Scripting
* SSIS Development Experience
* Experience working with Visual Studio Database Projects desired
* Experience working in cloud environment such as Azure
* Experience working with performance monitoring tools like Query Store
* Experience working with Master Data Services
* Exposure to unstructured datasets and ability to handle XML, JSON file formats
* Has the ability to take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary
* Voices opinions by presenting clear rationale and uses data driven analysis to influence decisions.
* Recognizes collaborative behavior and participates in collaborative activities
