HR Advisor Role – Rock Hill Converting

Dual reporting relationship to the Plant Manager and the Sr. Human Resources (HR) Manager –Converting, your role will be to provide HR expertise and assistance in support of the policies, strategies and direction to the Rock Hill, SC Converting Site.

More specifically, this role will provide support for a wide variety of human resources activities to including employee relations, recruiting, employee coaching and succession, organizational change management, EEO and affirmative action, employee onboarding and training, disability management, labor/employee relations, compensation and benefits. 

 Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Develops, coordinates & implements lifecycle recruiting including creating job descriptions, posting jobs, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, interviewing, constructing offer letters, initiating background and  drug testing, new hire paperwork and new hire orientation.
Develop, update, and support local site policies and maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times. Documents include Human Resources policies, Site/Company policies and procedures.
Training of all team members including employee and supervisory developmental classes to include new hire orientation, supervisory/team lead orientation, HR & Corporate support-based training.
Abide by all state and federal laws and guidelines including understanding of FLSA, FMLA, ADA and working knowledge of OSHA.
Provide support to all employees for Benefits and Leave of Absence.
Administer leave of absence programs and provide guidance to employees and management for all federal and state leave requirements.
Drafting proposed disciplinary and administrative actions such as proposed suspensions, suspension decisions, reprimands, and performance-based actions.
Proactively build relationships by meeting weekly with employees on the plant floor.
Facilitate actions to resolve employee issues and escalate issues to appropriate management team.
File reports and manage workers compensation and unemployment claims and manage HR compliance reporting.
Administrator of policies and procedures mandated by corporate and at the plant level.
Coordinate site Well-Being activities including regular health committee meetings, continuous communications of health-related topics, company-wide and local challenges, annual health screenings, flu shots, etc.
Coordinate and administer activities to provide a positive work environment including social activities, birthday recognitions, service awards, and monthly calendar of events.
Maintain attendance records for hourly employees.
Coordinate and administer the annual United Way campaign.
Provide administrative support with safety program, office supplies, phone service, month-end reports, copy machine service, monthly credit card statement, and other areas as needed.
Support ad hoc HR requests from the Plant Manager, Sr. Human Resources Manager –Converting & Supply Chain and corporate.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development, Psychology or related field coupled with a minimum of 3+ years Human Resources and/or Labor Relations experience, preferably in a manufacturing/plant setting.

If no degree, must have at least 5+ years in a progressive Human Resources or Labor Relations role; preferably in a manufacturing/plant setting.
Proven working knowledge of current Human Resources practices & techniques, and proven ability to effectively apply them in the workplace.
Demonstrate a high level of time-sensitive work prioritization, accuracy, organizational and communication skills; working with confidential information is a must.
Basic experience with an ATS system, running I-9 verifications, and ordering background & drug screens.
Advanced proficiencies in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint); knowledge in Outlook preferred.
