Business Development Manager (BDM) will participate in the development and execution of the growth strategies designed to meet the organization’s objectives. The Business Development Manager will facilitate membership growth and retention by promoting Prospect Medical (PMS) and MSO clients during community and employer group events. The BDM will develop assigned region and be available to support all CA regions. Business Development functions include strategic planning, insurance agent engagement, create and conduct presentations, identify and host community events, including marketing events and health fairs, and build relationship with key influencers. Additionally, the BDM will continue to develop health plan partnerships and coordinate with Network Managers to identify primary care physicians who want to grow with Prospect. Promote providers by actively assisting with growth efforts under departmental leadership direction.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

Meet growth objectives by working closely with Network Managers, primary care physicians, physician office staff, community stakeholders, brokers and health plan representatives. Promote exposure and provider participation by coordinating events and presentations. Develop and maintain stakeholder relations through educational sessions and on-going engagements. Assist with various membership growth and retention functions including working age-in reports and tracking overall membership trends and transfers, communicating variances manager, researching causes and collaborating on action plans as needed.
Establish communication mechanisms at assigned physician offices to increase awareness and PCP representation/attendance at health fairs and other events. Seek and arrange marketing & exposure opportunities for physicians in partnership with Network Managers. Identify opportunities to increase enrollment through collaboration with internal and external resources. May assist in developing and implementing strategies for assigned offices. Communicate effectively with staff and physicians while demonstrating excellent and timely service. Build long-term relationships with Network Managers and community stakeholders to promote engagement, referrals and growth.
Employer Group relationship procurement and maintenance. Coordinate with commercial health plan brokers, agencies and selected employer group HR Department to facilitate on-going exposure, enrollments, and account servicing.
As required, represent in an effective and influential manner, Prospect Medical and affiliated physicians during community, employer or company-sponsored events to generate leads and promote physician services. Effectively communicate value propositions of Prospect Medical and appropriately follow and track leads.
Track results. Complete special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred; High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.

Minimum Experience: Minimum three (3) years of experience within the Healthcare/IPA/Hospital industry desired. Marketing/Sales background preferred.  Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel required. Strong organizational skills. Maintain professional, focused and positive attitude Preferred. Bilingual preferred. Type 40 wpm. Ability to work with minimal oversight. Ability to work weekends if needed. Excellent customer service, communication, marketing and relationship building skills. Strong presentation skills. Strategic thinker with the ability to influence outcomes. Must have intermediate reasoning and problem-solving abilities and planning skills. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form. Speak, read, and write in English. May need to function efficiently in a home office environment. Must maintain in good-standing, a CA State Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

Now at 420 beds, SCH-CC is a general acute care hospital that utilizes many of the latest medical treatments and technologies. The hospital offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient acute care services, including an orthopedic center, cardiovascular services, acute rehabilitation, sub-acute care, psychiatric care and chemical dependency programs. Additionally, SCH-CC operates a 24-hour emergency services center, which serves as a paramedic receiving station and is staffed by board-certified emergency physicians and nurse specialists.
