Job Responsibilities/Duties?

Assists Corporate Controller to manage the month end close and daily operations for all accounting functions, including general accounting, accounts payable, account reconciliations, financial and operational reporting to achieve highest accuracy and efficiency while meeting the various deadlines. Provides support to Controller and Director, Finance.  Demonstrates problem-solving, critical thinking, and prioritization of work to resolve issues as they arise in an appropriate and timely manner.
Maintains internal controls and accounting policies and procedures.  Handles IT Capital Expenditures acquisition/PACE Financing/IT Oracle project invoice processing and other added tasks to support multiple corporate departments.
Provides effective oversight and guidance of staff and operations, including audits of activities and documentation. Appropriately educates and mentors, and leads/participates in company initiatives, such as employee engagement, to support a team-oriented culture. Acts as a coach and positive role model for staff by establishing and maintaining a safe work environment that fosters positive morale.
Produces standard and ad-hoc reports.  Ensures paperwork and reports are complete and accurate, and processed in a timely manner. 
Ensures appropriate staffing levels.  Responsible for scheduling/staffing, coaching, training, hiring, firing, counseling, performance evaluations and competencies, and payroll process. Appropriately monitors and addresses performance issues, applying corrective or disciplinary action when needed. Effectively manages staff in compliance with all established policies, procedures and legal guidelines. 
Interfaces with other departments to ensure optimal processing of information and streamlined processes.?

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent education and experience. Master’s Degree Preferred. CPA. Preferred

Minimum Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years prior experience in accounting management role, preferably within a healthcare or managed services environment and publicly traded company. Strong financial background with comprehensive knowledge of accounting theory, practices and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Experience establishing accounting processes and an understanding of internal controls and SOX and SEC compliance. Strong time management skills and ability to effectively prioritize tasks. Excellent business judgment and possess effective leadership skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, including senior management and non-financial staff.

Additionally, SCH-CC operates a 24-hour emergency services center, which serves as a paramedic receiving station and is staffed by board-certified emergency physicians and nurse specialists.
