Job Description Summary

The Lead Systems Engineer will be responsible for complete project execution of the System Engineering V model including scope, schedule, cost, technical, risk and quality, while ensuring project plans are adhered. On top of project execution, the Lead Systems Engineer will be responsible to lead day-to-day activities for individuals within the organization and act as a mentor for other team members ensuring the core team builds its strength.

Roles and Responsibilities

?In this role you will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
?Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirement
?Be responsible for System and Subsystem Level Design requirements
?Define and manage Interfaces to all sub-system in compliance to the system solution
?Work with Engineering Technical Manager to generate and execute design review matrix and reviews
?Define System Validation Plans, execute System Validation Testing, and work with Test Engineers to ensure traceability satisfies the projects objectives.
?Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
?Take ownership of tech concepts, solution, risks / mitigation plans, and engineering cost estimates on proposals
?Maintain broad awareness of technical trends to ensure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work, and reviews and responsiveness to customer / program needs
?Be a Technical leader for the projects across global cross-functional teams (Customers, product / program management, Safety and Applications engineering) assuring ?Ccradle to grave?D success
?Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
?Travel up to 10%
Required Qualifications

?Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other technical / science discipline
?Minimum of 5 years hands-on design, implementation, integration, testing, verification and experience involving; Avionics Engineering Systems, Hardware / Software Engineering, and/or Electrical Design
Desired Characteristics

?Self-starter with the ability to lead the effort with minimum supervision
?Experience working in systems including; A664, ARINC429, A629, A615A, IEEE1394, RS485, A825, Discretes, Synchro/LVDT/RVDT, Voltage/current/impedance sensors and effectors
?Background in System Design and Validation on systems involving Microprocessors and Data Concentration
?Hands-on capability to handle test equipment (power supplies, o-scopes, ect.), data bus capturing tools, scripting languages (VAIS, Python, Visual Basic), source code (Assembly) and Excel data manipulation aspects (Condensing large amounts of information))
?Knowledge in Avionics Systems and Aerospace Operating Practices
?Understanding and translating customer requirements for Applications development for software solutions
?Experience with DOORs Requirements Management Tools, and RTC/Dimensions Defect Tracking
?Experience with System Testing Processes, Tools, and Automation
?Ability to implement customer and industry standards
?Ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment
?Ability to engage and build positive relationships with both customers and internal and external employees
?Strong oral and written communication skills
?Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
?Understanding of engineering standards including; ARP-4754, DO-178, and DO-254
?Customer Technical Interface experience
?System Project Estimation and Bidding Experience
?Active Passport
