Job Description

As we move towards our ZERO ZERO ZERO future we are looking to add to our Autonomous Engineering team. As an Autonomous and Automated Driving Subsystem Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for the integration and validation testing of various cutting-edge vehicle subsystems such as Autonomous, Active Safety, Chassis Controls, Body Controls, Thermal Controls, and Propulsion Controls. You will be directly accountable for requirements analysis, test procedure generation, test execution, test property modifications to support advanced testing methods, test issue reporting, and test documentation. ??This position allows some work flexibility to ensure a good work-life integration.
Specific test and validation activities responsibilities include:

?Coordinate validation efforts for Autonomous Vehicle Subsystems while partnering and leading multi-functional teams
?Execute validation testing on multiple new safety critical features and non-safety critical features on vehicle system benches and development vehicles
?Assess cutting edge autonomous system electronics hands-on at validation test properties ranging from bench to vehicle implementations.
?Develop, maintain, schedule, and execute validation test procedures
?Develop test methods for new safety critical and non-safety critical features, subsystems, and components
?Utilize automated testing techniques in conjunction with Hardware-In-the-Loop simulation models and configurations to continually grow test execution capabilities
?Capture and analyze validation data to support issue resolution
?Author and publish validation test reports for major vehicle milestones
?Facilitate interactions external to direct organization as needed (e.g. Design, Release, and Supplier Teams)
?Grow testing capabilities using analytical tools and techniques
?Partner with test engineers at various GM Facilities testing autonomous subsystems on vehicle to optimally distribute testing workload and correlate results
?Coordinates and consults with departments outside engineering as needed
?Travel (minimal) as required

This position involves responsibility for development activities throughout a vehicle?s lifecycle including:

?Definition of bench and test property technical requirements
?Electrical design integration and verification

Additional Job Description

Experienced Required:

?Degrees: Bachelor?s of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems
?Min of 2 years experience in Electrical Test and Development, and Vehicle Electrical Architecture
?This position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle
?Experience with testing of GMLAN/CAN vehicle communication system and CAN based monitoring tools (CANalyzer, NeoVi,..)
?Min of 1-2 years participating Systems Engineering Based Vehicle DevelopmentPreferred Skills:

?Prior experience with Autonomous and Automated Driving Subsystem Validation testing
?Understanding Active Safety and Automated Driving Features and integration of sensors with vehicle control system
?Understanding of Vehicle System Electrical Architecture Designs
?Understanding of advanced vehicle communications protocols such as Flexray and Ethernet.
?Understanding of Control Systems Theory
?Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms
?Understanding of safety critical software and systems
?Ability to act as a single voice for bench level testing for assigned subsystems
?Knowledge of GMLAN or CAN based communication
?High level analytical ability where problems are
