Summary
The documentation engineering team is responsible for creating world-class tools and framework-level support for the documentation workflows in Xcode, Swift Playgrounds, and the developer website.
As an engineer on this team, you will be responsible for leading the design, development and delivery of key automation and analytics tools that developers and Apple engineers will use every day.
You will bring engineering and operational excellence to our documentation platform. We have a passion for high quality, well designed systems with scale in mind. Key Qualifications
? Experience in tools development, automation tools, analytics tools, or software engineering
? Knowledge of operating system, build systems, and compiler concepts
? Experience with Swift/Objective-C
? Experience with web services
? Advanced analytics and problem solving skills
? Comfortable implementing initiatives and processes across teams
? Ability to investigate, debug and triage compilation problems close to the code
Description
In this role you will be responsible for the design and implementation of the processes supporting the generation of our developer documentation, offered to external and internal users alike. You will have a direct impact on the quality and accuracy of the content made available to our users and their ability to learn and use Apple technologies.
In this role, you will:
- Design and own processes that scale and support generating and publishing documentation
- Enforce the accuracy of content and surface area of improvement with automation and analytics
- Coordinate documentation needs with engineering teams across Apple
- Be responsible for the publication of documentation to third party developers
- Help drive up the quality and stability of our documentation pipeline
Education & Experience
BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Informatics (or equivalent experience)
Additional Requirements
Preferred Skills:- Experience with iOS, macOS, and Xcode- Experience developing with the iOS or macOS SDK- Experience on testing shipping consumer-oriented products- Passion for Apple products, the documentation user experience and the developer user experience within Xcode
