YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Development Manager, are to:

Experience working with marketing technology stack (ex: Adobe, etc)
Be responsible for building an effective team and talent pipeline by selecting, attracting, developing and leading an inclusive team;
Mentor software developers, product managers, agile coaches and designers across the product platform team to raise the overall competency across the organization;
Serve as an ambassador for the product platforms team by establishing key relationships outside of the organization across Clinical Science Information Technology (IT) and with business stakeholders;
Promote ways of working and best practices by giving talks and facilitating workshops across Bayer to promote digital transformation and a digital mindset;
Be responsible for the engagement of teams attached to the Bayer and Crop Science mission, deeply understand the needs of all individuals on the team and create development plans to maximize growth and business objectives;
Provide timely, continuous feedback and coaching to all direct reports;
Communicate with the appropriate vendors to provide feedback on contractors or Statement of Work engagements;
Complete monthly financial tracking and forecasting, approximately $400K/month (USD);
Provide oversight, guidance and support of all technical activities of Development teams including, but not limited to, technologies, AWS, and DevOps;
Understand and embrace agile principles and partners with agile coaches to ensure their development teams are high performing and motivated;
Be responsible for oversight and approval of expense reports incurred by the team members to purchase hardware equipment needed;
Be responsible for representing the connected systems community and able to provide overview of product offerings to interested stakeholders such as vendors and developers looking to know more about the work.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or 12 years of combined education and experience;
At least 10 years of IT industry or equivalent experience;
At least four years of people leadership experience and/or project level leadership experience;
At least two years of experience working with or leading agile teams;
Demonstrated experience providing coaching and feedback to bring out the best in your teams, assisting team members with building and executing personal development plans and providing opportunities for technical mastery;
Ability to build and support a work culture that encourages team autonomy;
Ability to operate in environments with a large amount of ambiguity Embracing and demonstration of the agile principles;
Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly and effectively convey information, both in writing and verbally;
Effective at promoting innovation at every level of the organization;
Knowledge of current technologies and trends including programming languages and cloud technologies;
Championing of customer engagement;
Ability to effectively lead through change;
Ability to manage a budget;
Experience in Agriculture domain knowledge;
Experience developing software;
Familiarity with cloud, DevOps, microservices and continuous delivery;
Experience working with managed services providers.
