YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Cloud and Application Development Lead, are to: 

Lead 4-6 computer scientists;
Be accountable for prioritization, resource planning and management to ensure delivery of partner solution requests;
Develop Cloud and Data strategy for deployment on Google Big Query and Amazon Redshift with Row Crop and Enterprise colleagues;
Provide automated digital capability where needed for key strategic and business areas (e.g., product inventory, characterization and advancement, image capture, performance prediction models);
Execute and troubleshooting cloud application deployment procedures;
Work with data scientists to scale and automate existing statistical and deep learning models for production workflows;
Collaborate with product owners, developers and support staff to ensure continuous and reliable delivery of service;
Document current environment and ongoing maintenance of documentation.

Domestic relocation as well as Visa sponsorship is available.

Required Qualifications:

At least 14 years of relevant experience as a substitute for degree requirement or Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of experience in computer science, software engineering or related field or Master’s degree with at least seven years of relevant experience or Ph.D. with at least five years of relevant experience;
Extensive experience with object-oriented or functional languages such as Python, Java, Javascript, Scala, Go etc.;
Containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon ECS;
Ability to use and administer a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud platforms (experience with AWS and Google Cloud);
Experience with Linux/UNIX systems and the best practices for deploying applications to those stacks;
Strong business aptitude and ability to quickly learn new problem domains and become conversant with subject matter experts;
Self-directed individual with the ability to manage projects through all stages such as requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation, and support;
Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal and organizational skills to collaborate effectively with international, interdisciplinary teams;
Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence, including data pipelines;
Experience Optimizing and Scaling applications in the cloud;
At least three years of experience in distributed computing, GPU computing or CUDA;
Experience SQL and NoSQL databases (data warehousing, data modeling, etc.);
Experience with big data tools (Spark, Kafka, Flink, Hadoop, etc.);
Experience with automation & pipelines (Airflow, AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, Kube Flow, etc.).
