The Associate Director, Global Third Party Compliance, will have daily responsibility for compliance matters relating primarily to Business Partner and HCP due diligence screening and associated training, communications, and policies and procedures. This position will report to the Vice President, Global Compliance. This position may be remote or based at a Zimmer Biomet location. He/she will work closely and collaboratively with his/her compliance team members globally as well as regional compliance offices when performing his/her duties.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Provide leadership and strategic direction in the development and implementation of the Zimmer Biomet compliance program working cross-functionally within the business. The elements of such programs include leadership, standards, training, communications, assessment, accountability and remediation.
Oversee and manage a team that performs day-to-day review of due diligence files for potential and existing Business Partners and HCP Consultants; facilitate consistent approach to issues encountered during due diligence review.
Coordinate with team that manages relevant software systems and platforms used to process and maintain due diligence files to ensure maintenance of accurate and complete records.
Liaise with commercial, finance, and other leaders on due diligence related topics and processes; provide input to ensure consistent approach to due diligence-related topics across the organization.
Develop materials and present to commercial and other leaders in the organization on the use of Screened Business Partners and due diligence topics of interest.
Draft policies, procedures, and work instructions for Zimmer Biomet as necessary to implement and enhance the due diligence program.
Prepare communications to inform Team Members of due diligence initiates and related topics.
Work with the regional Compliance Officers and teams to provide guidance on and ensure consistency across regions and business units.
Remain up-to-date on relevant trends and activities in the global compliance sphere and adjust due diligence program accordingly.
Provide input and assistance on global projects on an as needed basis.

Expected Areas of Competence

Excellent writing, editing and analytical skills required
Organized and detail oriented, with a high degree of ethics, integrity and professionalism
Strong understanding of anti-corruption due diligence process and standards for multi-national corporation
Highly motivated, self-starter willing to meet strict deadlines and time constraints; must possess a positive, can-do attitude and show enthusiasm
Demonstrated ability to operate independently and work as part of a team, able to build relationships across and outside the department
Enables Team Members to grow and succeed through feedback, instruction, and encouragement, while promotion organizational mission and goals.
Ability to communicate effectively to a diverse audience at multiple levels within the company through various formats
Must be fluent in English; foreign language skills preferred but not required
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to learn other software packages as required

Education/Experience Requirements

Bachelors Degree (or non-US equivalent) required; formal studies in business or law, preferred
Juris doctorate (JD) or MBA preferred
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a compliance capacity is required, preferably in the life sciences industry

Travel Requirements

Up to 20%
