This role is a key member of the Gas Turbine Maintenance and Optimization Team that is accountable for optimizing all aspects of gas turbine maintenance for the Chevron Heavy Duty Gas Turbine Global Fleet. Acts as an internal subject matter expert /consultant for all mechanical aspects of gas turbine maintenance and operations. This includes turnaround/outage optimization, planning and execution, inventory management, procurement strategy and vendor management, upgrade projects, risk management, and troubleshooting. The role is a blend of office and field work and requires extensive travel domestic and international plus 12 hours plus shifts for up to and occasionally more than 30-45 days during outage execution. Travel will vary depending on outage loading but ranges ~40-60%. Compensation time off and additional pay/ international uplift are applied per applicable company policies for extended work hours on projects in excess of nominal OT for a salary position.

The primary focus of the job will be consulting with Chevron business units for HDGT turnaround/outage/project planning, execution, and optimization to help Chevron win in any price environment.

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical, Marine, or Aeronautical Engineering (or closely related technical field) and a minimum of 3 years of directly applicable experience, or a high school diploma/GED and 7 years of directly applicable experience.

Experience working directly with the maintenance planning and execution of gas turbine (GT) outages including combustion (CI), hot gas path (HGP) and major inspections (MI).

Preferred Qualifications:

OEM or third-party GT Field Service or engineering experience.

The candidate should be a credible GT Maintenance SME and have a prior work history with mechanical HD GT field service planning and execution to the SME level.

Experience with General Electric Heavy-Duty Fr 5, 6, 7 or 9 GTs.

Teaming and influential leadership: The candidate must be able to work effectively on a multidiscipline\multinational team.   Ability to distribute, influence, and implement best practices across the enterprise to include Chevron Technical Center, Chevron Pipeline and Power, and supported Upstream and Downstream business units.  Strong influential leadership and communication skills and behaviors are needed to be the credible technical leader that is desired for this role.

Work Independently: Capable of handling multiple complex projects simultaneously with impacts across Chevron sites. The preferred candidate will need to be flexible with their working hours to accommodate communications with remote sites in different time zones on occasion. The preferred candidate must be willing to participate in the execution of outages at remote sites which may require several weeks to over a month away from the home office. The candidate may work with minimum supervision and sets their own priorities and schedules.  They may give work direction to others or lead a small team. The candidate contributes to planning and completion of Chevron Pipeline and Power initiatives and proposes solutions to meet customer business goals.
