Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking an API Engineering Manager to join the ICS API Journey. Youll be leading 2 scrum teams and responsible for building the credit card APIs. You will be involved in the technical details of building highly available and reliable services, while also working with product teams to build new capabilities for U.S. Bank Above the Glass applications.

In addition, focus on technological solution delivery by guiding and inspiring strong coding practices and solid software design decisions among their team. Responsible for growing and mentoring engineers as it relates to technical skills and career development. Assists with cross-team strategic efforts, influencing decisions to achieve efficient delivery of business value. Understands cross-team technical roadmaps, advocating new product abilities based on technical strategy and constraints.

Other Responsibilities:

* Resource Manage engineers as they add to our existing APIs and build new APIs

* Foster long-term thinking and creativity in a complex space, and promote our organization to support our business

* Collaborate with product management, design, senior engineering and product leadership, and your peers to develop the strategy for your team

* Oversee the success of your team's projects and achieve quantifiable results.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Five to six years of relevant technical experience
- Three to four years of leading a software engineering team

Preferred Skills/Experience
- Thorough understanding of the team's domain and drives the team's objectives and deliverables with an understanding of adjacent teams' business domains
- Thorough understanding of a feature, the users impacted, the flows impacted and feature's purpose
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of business strategy and how the technical and engineering strategy aligns to this
- Advanced knowledge of information systems technology and software development processes and tools, especially industry specific applications
- Thorough knowledge of organizational policies and procedures
- Strong analytical, product management, tactical planning and leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate with all parties involved in the product team (engineers, product owner, scrum master, third party vendors, customers, etc.)
- Demonstrated management, leadership and interpersonal skills.
