Laurel Heights Hospital located in Atlanta Georgia has a MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATE-RTC (NIGHT SHIFT: SATURDAY & SUNDAY, 7PM-7:30AM, EVERY WEEKEND) opportunity. Laurel Heights Hospital is an intensive Residential Treatment/Acute and Autism Spectrum Disorders Program for children and adolescents. We serve and treat severe and complex psychiatric and behavioral difficulties and co-occurring psychiatric issues. We provide a caring, therapeutic setting with various therapeutic modalities and applied behavior analysis services. EOE.
Qualifications
Candidates must be able to work NIGHT SHIFT: SATURDAY & SUNDAY, 7PM-7:30AM, EVERY WEEKEND/24 HOURS A WEEK. Candidates should have Bachelor's Degree with 1 year of working experience or High Diploma with 3 to 5 year working experience in a similar setting working with behaviorally disordered children and adolescents, preferably those with an Autism Spectrum Disorder or related development disabilities preferably within an inpatient setting. Acceptable oral and written communication skills; legible handwriting; ability to maintain information as highly confidential; telephone etiquette and customer service skills by phone and face-to-face; familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred; skills in dealing courteously with the public and other staff within the organization; basic knowledge of human behavior or principles of psychology preferred; skills in prioritizing and in managing time; problem-solving skills; use of appropriate social skills, including demonstration and respect for staff and patients; empathy toward children and adolescents; basic knowledge of child growth and development preferred; experience working with abused children/adolescents helpful; skills in limit-setting necessary; able to respond to children/adolescents in a firm yet nurturing, caring manner, while maintaining professional boundaries necessary; willingness to seek supervision in this regard necessary. Employee must have a valid Georgia Driver's License. In the absence of these qualifications upon hire, must demonstrate ability to learn these concepts and develop these skills within reasonable time frame via the organization's orientation and training program.
