With that, we are excited to say were hiring! We are actively seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our Honey Offers Team in Los Angeles, CA. About the Team: As a Machine Learning Engineer, you'll drive the development of next generation search and product recommendation tools behind Honeys Shopping Assistant application. Search Team builds search and recommendation engines for a global product catalog containing tens of thousands of merchants and tens of millions of products across those merchants. You will work both in a research capacity, inventing our next generation of search tools, but also in a engineering capacity, helping to productionalize those tools to support an array of front-end client technologies. The ideal candidate is experienced both in ML/Deep Learning and in software engineering techniques including test driven development, database design, software architecture, and cloud deployment.
What You'll Do:
As a Machine Learning Engineer at Honey, you will:
* Do both research in ML models and and productionalization of those models to solve problems in search and product recommendation
* Perform feature engineering on our catalog data
* Read and follow cutting edge research in search technologies from other top companies and organizations, like Stanford, Walmart, Google, and Amazon
* Research and experiment with technologies to resolve semantic search queries
* Work with a catalog of tens of millions of products across thousands of merchants
* Strategize techniques for evaluating the success of our search engine and iterating on search result quality
* Coordinate with other important Honey teams including Product Catalog, Explore/Discovery, and Personalization
About You:
* You like to stay on top of current research trends in Deep Learning and Machine Learning
* You can evaluate when ML is the right tool for the job, and when other approaches will be more effective
* Are an expert in Machine Learning tools in Python
* Are comfortable working in TensorFlow or PyTorch, and have previously built a production system using one of those technologies
* Are familiar with data processing tools including Airflow and Dataflow
* You enjoy mentoring junior engineers in your field
* You have a working knowledge of Agile Development Practices and Scrum methodologies
* You are able to manage your time well and provide accurate time estimates
* You are someone that enjoys taking ownership and responsibility
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
* Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes, or other cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure)
* Experience with A/B testing and user research to evaluate product success
* Experience with performance or load testing
* Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes
