HarperCollins Christian Publishing seeks a Graphic Designer with experience in digital and print marketing design to join our team. Were an in-house Design team supporting multiple brand marketing groups for the direct to consumer business.
The successful candidate should have knowledge of current design trends, especially with a concentration on digital design. We work in a fast-paced environment, so appropriate creative vision, attention to detail, and execution are crucial for the role, as well as organization and managing a demanding schedule.
Responsibilities
* Develop original designs for digital marketing (performance marketing ads, social media graphics, emails, website graphics, etc.), seeing projects through from concept through completion
* Supporting creation of graphics and design layouts for catalogs, print ads and flyers.
* Collaborating with the Direct Brand and Platform teams to support campaigns and offer design solutions and production assistance.
* Drive innovation with creative execution and editorial storytelling.
* Compile and develop assets needed for marketing projects to optimize performance of campaigns.
* Support in developing and evolving brand standards for multiple brands and apply the appropriate guidelines to projects.
Qualifications
Knowledge:
* Advanced Macintosh computer skills in Adobe CC Suites programs: mainly InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
* Strong understanding of creative development for digital marketing platforms
* Knowledge of typography and composition. Experience with the use of paragraph styles, character styles, and setting up master pages is preferred.
* Knowledge of book structural elements and proofreading marks is nice to have..
Work Experience:
* 3-5 years of professional experience in graphic design preferably in digital and print marketing.
* Agency experience a plus.
* Online portfolio required for consideration. It shoulddemonstrate a solid grasp of graphic design and communicating visually. Good use of typography, illustration styles, color and design trends will also be important.
Education:
* BA in Design field, especially relating to advertising/marketing design.
Skills:
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat
* Proficiency in office software tools including: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Excel
* Knowledge of HTML and email/web design a plus
* Creative,enthusiasm for communicating through design
* Conceptual vision
* Organized and detail oriented
* Works well in fast-paced environment, with ability to manage multiple projects and revisions effectively
* Able to work both independently and collaboratively across functions
* Problem-solver
* Team player with strong interpersonal skills
