Renew is a unique in-house creative development division for HCCP intellectual property and provides the opportunity to work across the spectrum of authors and products for all publishing divisions including all imprints. It necessitates market awareness and rewards creativity by working with the content from leading authors spanning decades.

The Marketing Director is responsible for planning and executing effective marketing campaigns across all platforms with focus on SEM/SEO utilization. This individual will work with the Senior Director, Publishing to strategize and manage strategic planning for product releases to ensure Renew achieves its marketing and annual fiscal goals.

This position can be filled in Nashville, TN or Grand Rapids, MI.

Responsibilities

* Develop and execute individual, targeted marketing campaigns for approximately 30-35 titles annually. Set measurable goals for success.
* Define target keyword lists, optimize existing content and collaborate with content and web developers to implement ongoing initiatives.

* Help the team identify market trends and felt needs of readers

* Collaborate on new product launches and product updates

* Develop, manage schedule for, write and distribute Marketing and Publicity updates (MPUs).

* Identify opportunities into which our authors/books may be inserted and thus exposed to consumers via various outlets, and craft marketing strategy appropriate for each outlet.

* Create marketing strategy, marketing implementation, run digital marketing campaigns, managing social media, e-mail marketing, other things digital marketing for our titles.

* Develop and execute innovative ideas to connect customer needs with our titles using content marketing and other initiatives

* Proactively participate in regular editorial meetings and pub boards

* Collaborate on new product launches and product updates

* Manage the marketing budget for assigned titles and coordinate the activities of others that may be involved in each project, such as outsourced PR firms.

Qualifications

Knowledge: Solid understanding of the digital marketing interface, the web and the trends happening in technologyespecially when related to content. Understanding of the publishing industry, authors and/or content, preferred. Christian Publishing is also preferred. Working knowledge of effective content marketing is helpful.

Work Experience: 7-8 years of marketing experience, including social media, email, and digital marketing. Experience in lead generation, brand strategy, and marketing analytics. Some experience with PR and content marketing initiatives helpful. Thrives in an open, collaborative team environment.

Education: Bachelors degree in marketing, communications or similar field of study.Masters degree in related field preferred (MBA, IMC, etc.)

Industry Knowledge: Able to identify trends in the publishing/communication industry. Working knowledge of the trade book market, leading authors and agents is preferred. Experience serving the Christian market in publishing or related field, preferred.

Skills:

* Significant experience in digital content marketing, communications or content strategy with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in online marketing, including managing organic search campaigns
* Strong understanding of SEO, SEM, email, social media and website optimization

* Ability to evaluate and conceive worthwhile marketing and promotion plans

* Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines successfully and within budget.

* Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills including the ability to articulate in writing and speech a convincing case for new products.

* Experience in driving key marketing metrics tied to awareness and conversion.

* Familiarity with analytics tools like Google Analytics and keyword research tools such as Moz

* Creative, able to collaborate on ideas and nail the details.

* Have a passion for life changing content and the science of content marketing.

* Must be able to work in a fast-paced, evolving industry and environment
