POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of the Mutuel Clerk is to assist guests with placing wagers on horse racing and sporting events from around the globe. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental property policies, practices and procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Write and/or cash tickets in accordance with departmental policy and ensure Title 31 compliance
* Maintain and balance cash drawer
* Educate guests on how to wager on all racing and sporting events
* Notify supervisor of any suspicious activity
* Performs other job-related duties as requested
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
* Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
* Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Work varies shifts, to include weekends and holidays
PREFERRED:
* Six (6) months of cash handling experience
* One (1) year of customer service experience
* Experience working in a similar resort setting
* Knowledge of pari-mutuel and sports wagering
* Bilingual
