The Opportunity:

This position is a focused, technical engineering role responsible for supporting and helping to drive technical product innovation and the development of creative new product concepts into manufacturable solutions. This position also provides project support to more senior engineers acting as mentors to help gain experience. This position serves as focal point for driving technical engineering solutions on new product concepts to ensure financial targets, schedule, and adherence to specified safety and quality standards. Mattel is currently seeking a Product Engineering Associate to join our Fisher-Price team in East Aurora, NY.

What Your Impact Will Be:

* Responsible for the engineering research and support of more senior engineers, development, and execution of activities into new product ideas that result in products that are technically innovative, cost effective, and manufacturable.
* Responsible for driving results by effective communication and collaboration with key members of Development Team / Operations support as required. Works to meet milestones that will lead to product launches that are timely and in adherence to PLM standards.
* Responsible for the engineering based research and development supporting market strategies to drive adjacencies (i.e. toddler feeding) and initiatives corresponding to 20% and 10% of business effort.
* Positioned to drive global margin growth and improvement by generating cost savings alternatives and implementing new technologies that adhere to product and quality standard

What Were Looking For:

* Seeking recent graduates with a BA/BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field and 0-2 years of experience
* Understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of plastics and plastic, metal, and fabric part design. Ability to develop BOMs and tool plans
* Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, organization and multi-tasking skills
* Skilled in materials, part design, mechanical design, attachment strategy, PRO/Engineer, etc
* Good leadership and analytical skills
* Effectively support global product needs with sensitivity to working with different cultures, customs and norms
* Detailed oriented, creative thinker and problem solver
