RoleSummary

Thisis an Engineer 2positionwithin theAnalytics Center of Excellence (ACOE)department ofthe Research & Development Solutions org (R&DSIT).

ThisSREis responsible forthedesignandimplementation ofahybrid cloud strategy including both public cloud (AWS) andon-premisesdeploymentsto support distributed software systemsthat serve an array of scenarios related toclinical trials and other lines of IQVIAs pharma/tech business.

This is a highly collaborative roleworking in partnership with peer SREs, ITgroupsand software engineering teams to stand-up environments,deploy applications,establish metrics,and achieve infrastructure performance and stability targets.

The ideal candidate ismore than an infrastructure specialistbut alsoan experienced softwareengineer and able to participate in designanddevelopmentactivities.

Typical Activities

* Consultation and collaborationwith software development teams

* Actively participate in Agile practices

* Assist with infosecassessments

* Work withcloud infrastructureproviders

* Configure deployment automationframeworks

* Establishbest practicesfor consistency among software developmentteams

* Continuous improvement, take proactive steps to improve product quality and processefficiency

* Research current and emerging industry tools and techniques and share these findings withcolleagues

* Contribute to stable, reliable product development work in cross functional autonomous scrumteams

* Creating well-designed, testable, efficient infrastructure & software

* Drive curiosity and innovation

* Contribute to documentation efforts for product architecture and infoseccompliance

* Contribute to security assessments and product readinessevaluation

* Help optimizingsystemperformance

* Perform code reviews for work submitted by otherengineers

* Mentor interns, apprentices, and other

BasicQualifications

* Software design and development experience

* Linux experience with the ability to configure environmentsthrough the use ofsoftwaretools

* Experience usingDockerto build, test and deploycontainers

* Kubernetes ability to deployapplications

* Automatedprovisioning(Terraform, Ansible, etc.)

* Experience with coreAWSservices, uses and basic AWS architecture bestpractices

* ExperienceusingGitLab(or similar VCS)for committing, branchingandmerging

* Solid understanding of microservicesand restful services

* Solid understanding of relational database management systems

* Strongverbal and writtencommunications skills

* 2+ years of relevant collaborative software development experience

* Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals

* Demonstrated in-depth understanding of product developmentlifecycle

* Experience deploying code into production through CI/CD tools(not just CI/CD Pipeline)

Additional Qualifications

These additional qualifications are not required. However, having any of the qualifications listed belowwill strengthen a candidates application.

* Security experience (K8s, AWS, Azure)

* Monitoring (Datadog)

* Establishing and monitoring SLOs, SLIs and SLAs(Datadog)

* Experience designing applications in a microservice-orientedarchitecture

* Experience building RESTfulAPIs

* Experience with clinical domain and with regulateddata

* Experience working in the Hadoopecosystem

* Prior experience leading engineering projects
