Job Duties
IBM Developer for z/OS (ZUnit) in IBM Z is seeking an experienced Software Developer who is highly driven and technically prepared to join a world-class team where youll be using the latest tools and technologies available to deliver state-of-the-art software products developed in Java and VS Code. Youll be part of a highly skilled, results oriented agile team working with industry leaders in developing tools for the mainframe that power of 90% of top 100 banks globally and used by over 90% of all Fortune 500 companies today. As a part of IBM Z, you will join our mission and commitment in delivering state of the art software technology in our modern tools platform for working with large scale enterprise mainframe systems.

What Youll Do:
As a Software Developer, you may collaborate with Designers in applying IBM Design Thinking methodology in software design based upon requirements gathered from stakeholders and Sponsor Users. You will use Java, Eclipse and modern technologies such as VS Code in your daily development work. Having knowledge of z/OS applications and/or high level languages is a plus.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

* You are highly motivated and have a passion for creating and supporting great products
* You thrive on collaboration, working side by side with people of all backgrounds and disciplines, and have very strong verbal and written communication skills
* You are great at solving problems, debugging, troubleshooting, designing and implementing solutions to complex technical issues
* You have an understanding of software development, unit testing and an in depth knowledge of test automation
* Must have at least 5 years of experience in Java

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

* Knowledge of one or more of the following additional languages/areas: COBOL, PL/I, VS Code or Assembler, Eclipse plugin development
* Knowledge of Typescript, API development, Language processing/compiler-scanner basics are an added advantage
* Demonstrated experience in leading or strongly contributing to software development projects
