Your Role and Responsibilities
* Directs and prioritizes creation and maintenance of clinical and scientific content
* Applies critical literature evaluation skills to identify and synthesize complex clinical evidence in the diagnosis and management of specific disease states/conditions
* Synthesizes complex information from multiple, sometimes conflicting, sources to form a conclusion
* Identifies and synthesizes complex clinical evidence to identify changes/evolution in the diagnosis and management of specific disease states/conditions
* Possesses and demonstrates the practical application of key medical and nursing concepts (anatomy/physiology, pharmacology, biology, chemistry, medical pathophysiology, clinical procedures, interventions, social sciences, etc.)
* Reviews and writes content; provides feedback to writers to improve quality of content
* Researches and resolves editorial inquiries requiring subject matter expertise
* Keeps current on practices within specialty content area(s); maintains awareness of current controversies, issues, and developments
* Provides support to other departments and business units as required
* Participates in staff development activities in support of maintaining necessary job skills
If you are hired into a Colorado work location, the anticipated compensation range for the position $70,000 to $109,000 is based on a full time schedule. Your ultimate compensation may vary depending on your job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
* Degree in nursing or related healthcare profession; recent clinical experience a plus
* Strong computer skills; familiarity with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) and Adobe Professional
* Strong writing skills; direct patient education or low-literacy writing experience
* Ability to solve problems, organize work independently, and launch and see multiple projects through to completion
* Ability to communicate with management and other team members; collaboration is a key component of the position
* Clinical experience in a variety of healthcare settings and clinical specialty areas
* Familiarity with the American Medical Association Manual of Style; familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style a plus
* Diagnosis and procedure coding experience
* Writing, editing, or teaching medical information to healthcare consumers
* Published, or experience with the editorial process
* Comfort or experience with publishing and graphics editing software
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Ability to perform primary literature evaluation and identify and interpret comprehensive and accurate medical, scientific, and regulatory information from multiple sources.
