Your Role and Responsibilities
The Watson Health Health Research/Data Analyst provides basic research, analytic, and client support as part of a team that delivers health care information and consulting services to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and/or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
In this entry-level role, you will get exposed to various activities including requirements gathering, technical documentation writing, analytics/programming, IT/security, web development, technical assistance, and research. You will have the ability to work with your manager and project management staff to grow further in one or many of these areas as it aligns to your career goals, and project needs.
Essential Responsibilities:
* Perform data quality reviews to verify that specific data restrictions have been applied.
* Coordinate the receipt, storage, and delivery of sensitive data files.
* Draft background sections of client deliverables and project proposals as directed by Research Leader
* Perform reviews of health research literature and summarize relevant information as directed by Research Leader.
* Format deliverables for client presentations (reports, technical memoranda, posters, podium presentations, and manuscripts).
* Interface with external stakeholders to ensure that the project maintains high-quality relationships with stakeholders.
* Attend to daily office activities, such as email correspondence with external stakeholders and the burning and delivery of data to the client.
* Work closely with project team members (Programmer/Analysts, Research Leaders, Research Assistants, and Statisticians) to complete research projects that will meet clients needs.
* Assist with the development and documentation of file specification and analytical results.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
* Associate in Arts degree with 5 + years experience
* 2 to 3 years previous healthcare industry and/or quantitative work experience related to health research highly desirable. Relevant graduate degree may substitute for work experience
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with individuals at various levels within the organization and external clients.
* Good critical thinking, questioning, and listening skills

* Problem-solving and analytical skills
* Previous health care or research background desired
* Time management skills for managing multiple tasks simultaneously, while completing work within allocated time frames.
* Intermediate experience using Microsoft Applications, such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint; and using Adobe Acrobat.
* Intermediate experience with common corporate communication tools including enterprise email clients (i.e. Notes/Outlook), instant communication tools (i.e., Slack), and document sharing platforms (i.e., Box)
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
* Bachelors degree with 1 to 3 years experience
* Advance experience using Microsoft Applications, such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint; and using Adobe Acrobat.
