The primary responsibility of this role is to achieve the key organizational goals of the distribution center through the efficient use of staff and systems on a day-to-day operational basis. This includes interaction with the client team on operations issues, as well as providing operational technical expertise, staffing updates and workforce management to achieve the proper workforce staffing during peaks and low volumes. Reporting staffing numbers for operational areas and focusing on hiring needs.

The Supervisor will point out potential operating opportunities and have full responsibility for implementing and executing all operations programs, policies, and systems within their assigned function. This role is responsible for providing efficient and effective coordination of their work unit. This includes understanding their team and motivating them to achieve organizational and professional goals.

* Consistently demonstrate positive and professional behavior to all Associates, Vendors, Supervisors, Managers and HR.
* Seeks innovative initiatives to enhance distribution center operations to simplify work output and improve processes, staff planning.
* Ability to read, interpret and present information such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, update SOPs, checklists, and training information.
* Communicate effectively and partners to reach decisions and solve problems to improve quality, performance and safety, training, and staffing.
* Makes and communicates decisions, takes action, understands impact, and accepts responsibility.
* Ability to learn and retain a comprehensive understanding of all operating systems and processes.
* Provide effective supervision of associates and assist them with ongoing development and help with day to day workflow.
* Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable municipal, state and federal laws relating to Health and Safety, OSHA, CTPAT.
* Ability to have a flexible schedule, can adapt to new working conditions, and able to work increased peak season hours as needed.
* Foster an environment in which diverse backgrounds are respected and valued.
* Track/Report staffing, Premium Pays, Maintain/Reporting of DC hours and wages (DC Pulse, job code spreadsheet) Maintain Master Schedule
* Involved in providing staffing needs for lower and higher volume times of the year. Order temps, seasonal and communicate with HR and Recruiting on direct hires and interviews needed.
* Associates Degree in Logistics, Operations Management, Business Industrial Engineering or related field or equivalent years of related work experience.

* Minimum of 1 year experience performing training/presentations.
* Strong reasoning, analytical, and organizational skills.
* Staff mentoring and development and technical guidance and direction.
* Teamwork and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate with customers, associates and peers.
* Knowledge of automated DC Systems and of current RF technology is helpful.
* Must be able to fulfill all standard warehouse physical requirements.
* Previous leadership experience is helpful.
* MS office and Word skills, MS excel including creating formulas for spreadsheets, hyperlinking, and PowerPoint.
