As a Technical Program Manager, you will play a key role within Central Product Platform engineering, driving complex programs that span the organization. Facebook's External Metrics team is redefining what is possible, and we need program managers that can do the same. The objective of this role is to lead cross-functional Engineering initiatives to drive Metric platform that would enable product and functional organizations across Facebook to implement metrics standards.
Technical Program Manager, Decision Platform Responsibilities
* Own an undefined space and work with cross-functional stakeholders in a matrix org structure to identify business needs and clearly define problems we need to solve.
* Define overall Vision, Strategy and Roadmap to address the problems/opportunities in collaboration with Product Manager and Engineers.
* Create product backlog with user stories to develop features
* facilitate difficult conversations against competing priorities.
* Develop project plans to implement features.
* Lead product and technical discussions to identify and remove any roadblocks.
* Manage and track execution and accountability across different product/engineering teams.
* Be hands-on when needed and have a passion/willingness to dive deep both on tech architecture and code/data.
* Provide regular updates to the product teams and leadership.
* Lead dog fooding session with stakeholders to solicit feedback on features under development.
* Post launch, conduct roadshows across the organizations to educate users on platform/product capabilities and new features.
* Conduct ongoing training if needed on product capabilities in collaboration with Engineers.
* Actively manage risks, issues, action items, follow-ups to ensure timely closure.
* Work with stakeholders to promote Metrics platform adoption.
Minimum Qualifications
* M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
* At least 8 years of technical program management experience driving technical products from inception to delivery under matrix structure.
* 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data & Analytics projects with code level experience, if necessary.
* 3+ years of experience in designing/developing architecture.
* Experience identifying user needs, gathering requirements, and defining scope.
* Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership.
* Experience in communicating with both business and technical stakeholders.
* Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems.
* Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with data governance, data quality, logging, monitoring, metric computation, ML models.
* Experience working with large-scale distributed data systems and/or SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark or other big data systems.
