Job Overview

Materials Coordinator

Responsible for management of materials related to the day to day production at the Vernon site. This includes purchasing, inventory, and SAP management of materials needed for the site's production including performing the necessary SAP and other system transactions supporting production. Procures materials from suppliers and service providers, working with intercompany resources as needed. Determines and maintains proper stock levels, schedules orders, and maintains inventory. Responsible for the cycle counting of materials used in the Vernon location.

Shift & Schedule:

This position will be based at our Vernon, CA facility and will support our 1st Shift, working from approximately 6:30am - 3:00pm PST. Additional flexibility to work overtime according to changing business needs, including potential off-days, weekends, and/or holidays, is also required as scheduled.

Compensation:

The starting pay rate for this position is $29/hour, paid weekly. Attractive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k, etc.) is also available.

Position Responsibilities

* Manages SAP material movement reconciliation for day to day production activities
* Serve as a back up to production planning functions.
* Drives improvements to the inventory process in order to meet standards and drive efficiency by ensuring proper communication
* Work to proactively resolve issues in SAP or inventory with other site members
* Review the root cause analysis of SAP Inventory Transaction Work Flows, supporting corporate inventory standards and targets with metrics to support continuous improvement. Presents period metrics to Senior level management.
* Manages adjustments to SAP for inventory transactions to ensure the inventory is accurate and posts to the General Ledger.
* Audits inventory transactions with comparison to corporate standards and manage assigned investigative analysis to lead efforts to provide the appropriate resolutions.
* Supervises the process that documents any failures that result in lost inventory, and reviews carrier, operations, and claims for inventory losses and/or damaged goods.
* Ensure compliance with safety codes, policies and procedures of the Company and standards established by OSHA and Food Safety.
* Responsible for inventory accuracy (target of 98.5%) and supports accurate inventory in terms of needed cycle counts, periodic counts and reviews
* Review records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures and to determine adequacy of stock levels.
* Reconcile all differences in stock and in SAP and/or other production reporting systems and methods
* Determine and report causes for each discrepancy, work with Production, Inventory, Warehouse, and Planning teams to resolve issues.
* Ensure that all products are stored at the prescribed storage heights.
* Ensure that master data in SAP is accurate.
* Order materials and supplies as needed by production/operations.
* Process customer returns as needed.
* Monitor certain location specific permits and licensing requirements and file for renewals as needed
* Oversee the planning, executing and tracking of all inbound STOs for RDC as well as any additional sites that falls under sites responsibility
* Performs filing and paperwork maintenance for records associated with inventory, production, and receiving
* Reconciliation of third party sites inventory that fall under sites responsibility
* Performs necessary transactions and completes all necessary reporting requirements supporting month end closing process

Requirements

Qualifications

* Bachelors degree highly preferred; High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required
* Lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly.
* At least 1 year of experience with an automated warehouse management systems, ideally SAP, is required
* 1 year of previous manufacturing experience, ideally in a planning or scheduling role, is highly preferred
* Previous experience working regularly with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
