The Senior Manufacturing Scientist supports manufacturing operations with scientific expertise to ensure successful transfer of new products from development to manufacturing. This role takes ownership in ensuring robust manufacturing processes at commercialization, failure investigation of commercialized products; and supports processes to ensure performance within expected parameters.

This position is an integral part of the Process Engineering department. Reporting to the Senior Manager Manufacturing Science, you are responsible for supporting our Manufacturing and Quality Control Departments as well as operations in general.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

* Lead multifunctional teams in determining root cause of purification related issues.
* Provide technical expertise, experimental design, execution, interpretation, and documentation to support investigations.
* Lead multifunctional teams in designing and implementing corrective actions, preventative actions, defect reduction strategies, and defect detection tools as required to resolve issues and improve test methods/manufacturing processes.
* Communicate investigation status reports, proposals for further investigation, etc. via oral and written reports.
* Assess manufacturing processes and systems, and implement improvements aimed at performance, quality, and cost.
* Acquire and demonstrate creative application of sophisticated technical and manufacturing knowledge.

The essential requirements of the job include:

* Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5+ years' experience or a Masters with a minimum of 3+ years
* Advanced knowledge of purification techniques used in an ISO/GMP environment.
* Knowledge of Chromatography methods (affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion),
* Analytical methods (HPLC, UPLC, IEP, IEF, SDS PAGE), Statistics,
* Team leadership experience,

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

* Automation (Unicorn software, AKTA equipment, Waters Empower software)
* Six Sigma Black Belt certification
