Do you enjoy working with customers and solving technical issues? Molecular Devices seeks a qualified candidate with significant Life Sciences instrumentation, software, and applications experience to join the North America Scientific Technical Support team! The successful candidate has expertise performing technical problem solving on scientific instrument hardware, software, as well as cell-based applications. The candidate must be a quick learner and exhibit a passion for customer support on the array of industry leading Molecular Devices microplate readers.

Responsibilities:

* Provide daily scientific, technical, and applications support on an array of Molecular Devices microplate readers
* Participate in trainings on both new and existing supported products
* Perform technical problem solving on hardware, software, and cell-based assays, working with available company resources and advancing issues as needed
* Communicate with our customers using phone, email, WebEx and Web chat
* Update and maintain the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database (SalesForce/ServiceMax) with relevant case information
* Create and maintain Knowledge Base articles and Technical Notes
* Perform revenue generating activities including sales lead generation
* Work with cross-functional teams to ensure supportability of new product releases

Qualifications:

* MS/Ph.D in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering or related field with 4+ years of laboratory experience
* Have thorough knowledge of cell-based assay techniques
* Experience in analyzing complex data, solving hardware and software issues and be an independent problem solver
* Proficient at promoting products and services
* Customer Service oriented, with a high sense of urgency
* Hands-on experience with Molecular Devices SpectraMax microplate readers (e.g. M Series, i3x, and iDx), associated reagents, and SoftMax Pro data acquisition and analysis software is highly desirable
* Customer support and/or teaching experience are a plus
* Familiarity with modern methods of drug discovery, computer networking, and lab automation is a plus.
