POSITION SUMMARY:

The successful applicant will work at the Department of Protein Reagent Development and Production to develop and produce protein reagents, with focus on engineering and manufacturing recombinant proteins including recombinant enzymes. He/She will contribute to multiple phases of bioprocess development and production of enzymes and proteins. The position level depends on the experience and responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Support and carryout downstream processes to produce recombinant enzymes and protein reagents under GMP environments.
* Follow SOPs and protocols to carry out protein purification and formulation processes for bulk manufacturing of recombinant proteins.
* Manufacturing activities include recombinant protein material processing, chromatography, column unpacking/packing, TFF, DF, final fill, and buffer preparations.
* Maintain and qualify protein manufacturing and protein analytical equipment.
* Characterize recombinant proteins biochemically and functionally.
* Maintain data and records, technical reports, and production batch records.
* Generate and revise SOPs.
* Actively collaborate with other functions such as Bioanalytical, QA and QC.
* Perform in a cooperative cross functional setting to maximize the efficiency of the protein reagent program.

TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES: (REQUIRED)

* Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time.
* For people managers, ensure your associates attend and complete all required trainings satisfactorily and on time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience (in years):

* BS in Biochemistry or related field.
* 1-4 years of relevant experience in protein reagent development and/or production.
* Industry experience in biologics development and/or working in manufacturing facility environment are a plus.

Knowledge and skills:

* Downstream experiences including protein purification by chromatography with FPLC.
* Column unpacking/packing, column cleaning and qualification, TFF, DF.
* Basic protein analytical skills and techniques.
* Experiences in protein development/production in cGMP setting is a plus.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams to achieve objectives.
* Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Physical requirements/abilities:

* Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
