POSITION SUMMARY:

This role will be instrumental in establishing internal Data Privacy policies and external regulations for Cepheid Global Customer Care Organization and will report into Global Customer Care Enablement Team. The primary function will be to establish data privacy and security standards for customer care globally, ensure global roll out and implementation of all data privacy and ensure continuous compliance. This role will support daily operational question related to Data privacy and security in global customer care organization. The ideal candidate is an experienced data privacy professional, having led a data privacy function is a plus. This role represents the needs of the business globally and partners with cross-functionally teams and external vendors to facilitate any data privacy and security decision-making.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Drive companywide Customer Care strategy and support data privacy and security activity and address security questionnaires.
* Build and maintain and/or update data privacy and security roadmap and build plan to execute.
* Collaborate with cross function teams and cross regional customer care teams to develop and execute privacy and security processes that support and accelerate overall customer care goals and initiatives.
* Be the point of contact to work with legal, clinical affairs and innovation teams to understand the functional and regional data governance needs and interpret them for Customer Care requirements, Liaison with other functions such as R&D to get value and insights from CC data.
* Educate leaders on the data privacy initiatives and state end impact of regulation globally
* Implement data privacy and security Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI) where applicable data governance and privacy, including collection, storage, transfer, and management.
* Support customer care to negotiate privacy obligations and partner with Procurement to conduct security solutions search and implementation for global use.
* Ensure compliance with records and reporting obligations under all applicable regulations, specifically by maintaining a directory of data processing systems and workflows; coordinate completion of annual attestation by functional owners and/or management and Drive process improvement in global customer care organization to ensure data security and privacy
* Develop and deliver training for Tech Support, Field Service, distributors and authorized service providers on data governance and privacy.
* Understand data security & privacy needs from customer and provide technical expertise to ensure compliance with their corporate information security and privacy risk assessment process.
* Prioritize and lead data privacy requests, against highest value business utility.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelors degree in science or related analytics field with 8+ years experience or equivalent practical experience or in field with 12+ years experience.
* GDPR knowledge and experience, cybersecurity or privacy certification is a plus
* Hands on experience with customer care, customer service function and processes
* Knowledge of global privacy regulations, direct experience with HIPPA, FDA and other security and privacy governance is preferred
* Experience working with Department of Defense and/or other U.S. government agencies preferred
* Experience developing and maintaining project plans including schedules, project requirements, and delivery.
* Strong writing and communication skill to create concise and professional documentation and communicate to different partner from all function and on different manager levels
* Be self-motivated, able to work independently and take initiative toward and ownership of projects and solutions
* Be a curious and active learner with a passion or deep interest in contracts, privacy and data
* Highly self-motivated individual with proven attention to detail.
* Efficiently prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
