The purpose of this position is:
* Technicians are responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing machinery.
* This machinery can include plastics processing equipment including ultrasonic and thermal welders, automated assembly systems, material handling equipment, and packaging equipment.
This position includes significant duties such as:
* Daily machine and equipment cleaning, repair, troubleshooting and maintenance.
* Safety inspections and machine audits fixing identified problems.
* Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
* Tracks all labor hours and work performed through the use and support of the Plants computerized maintenance management system.
* Recommend improvements to process and/or equipment that enhance the manufacturing performance of the department.
* Properly uses Personnel Protective Equipment.
* Follows established company rules and regulations and maintains quality and safety standards
* Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor
* Communicate with previous & next shift to share issues and resolutions.
* Mentors new employees in the area of responsibility.
* Detects and reports improper operation, faulty equipment, defective material, and unusual conditions to supervisor or team leader.
* Maintains a clean and safe work area.
Education/Experience:
* High school diploma.
* 2+ years of experience in a technical role within a manufacturing environment.
Required Skills:
* Computer skills- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Good communication and documentation skills
* Use of power tools (drill, hole saw, jig saw, Dremel, etc.)
* Basic electrical/mechanical troubleshooting skills
* Working knowledge of standard automation components and sensors.
