Cornings Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (LCDs) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Purpose of the Position:

* Coordinate the daily management of the forming process.
* Provide leadership in the development and implementation of initiatives to achieve optimum plant & department efficiency.
* Provide leadership in the development and training of future and current employees.
* Ensure adherence to plant operating systems and documented work practices.
* Meet department and plant financial goals including cost reduction and capability improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead a group of forming engineers in the daily operations of the forming process.
* Executes process control and process subject area for forming which includes SOS and Process Governance.
* Manages process documentation and ensures it is up to date and aligned with division standards.
* Manage inventory of key forming equipment to ensure readiness for production
* Lead and/or support forming process and equipment developments. This includes ensuring that PI sheets, PCCLs, run plans, and run reviews are utilized effectively.
* Responsible for process yields, product attributes, cost reduction, and process capability improvement efforts.
* Communicate and report operations performance metrics to production teams, plant operations staff and functional leaders.
* Perform performance reviews and talent development plans for salaried direct reports.
* Execute cost reduction, lean and/or PEx projects (DMAIC/DESIGN) in line with business objectives.

Work Hours:

* Standard hours (M-F 8-5)
* Flexible hours will be required to support off-hour and/or weekend operation requirements.

Education & Experience:

* BS or MS in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Glass, or Ceramic majors preferred)
* 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
* 1+ years of prior supevisory or leadership experience
* Effective leadership skills to communicate expectations and hold individuals accountable
* Ability to supervise and lead direct and indirect employees
* Able to collaborate across organizational boundaries and integrate solutions
* Results oriented and high commitment
* Ability to multitask and prioritize work on an independent basis in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
* Project management skills
* Basic knowledge of Six Sigma (DMAIC / DESGN) methodology
* Ability to learn new technology and processes quickly

* Will work on the weekend team rotation scheduled (approximately once every 8 weeks coverage) and holiday coverage

Travel:

* We anticipate 10-15% travel for this role, domestic and international
