Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Scope of Position: The Information Security Compliance Specialist will support the efforts to plan, schedule, organize and direct improvements in all OFC manufacturing plants in NA, EMEA and APAC. Implement and manage compliance for division IS standards and governance processes that are aligned with the Corporation. Work with technology and engineering teams during the introduction and deployment of new technologies to protect our trade secrets. Help develop risk assessment criteria and work with teams to develop programs that reduce our IS exposure. This role requires working within a complex manufacturing structure at a plant, division (OFC) and corporate (Corning Inc.) level. It involves influencing sustainable cultural change to protect our sensitive information at all levels of the organization. Accomplishing these goals requires working in a matrix organizational structure with plant leadership/IS councils, Corporate IS, Security, IT and HR teams to address issues and drive improvements.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
* Report out to OFC Manufacturing Information Security Manager.
* Create and deliver leadership level presentations.
* Work with corporate information security contacts to deploy company driven strategy and initiatives throughout OFCs worldwide fiber and cable locations.
* Develop and maintain a comprehensive assessment of our information security vulnerability within our locations.
* Create standardized IS audit process and institute across division.
* Develop, manage and drive IS governance to ensure IS standards, Global program initiatives and Global metrics are being implemented, maintained, improved and sustained.
* Work with engineering & technology teams on to build, implement and manage OFC Key Asset Protection Plans.
* Work with Procurement to ensure that IS initiatives are deployed with 3rd party vendors and are compliant with Cornings IS policies and procedures.
* Maintain the OFC Manufacturing Information Security Policy and Procedures.
* Verify OFC Manufacturing Site compliance with Corning IS Policy and Procedures, including meeting OFC IS Metric targets and objectives.
* Analyze data to produce metrics for OFC MFG Sites to use in compliance tracking and design a mechanism for publishing compliance reports to OFC MFG Sites and Leadership.
* Design and execute IS communication plans for all levels of OFC MFG employees.
* Develop and provide Information Security Training and Awareness to all levels of OFC MFG employees.
Travel Requirements: 20-25% Domestic & International Travel, for durations up to 2 weeks.
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 40hrs+ M-F, Flexibility required particularly for travel
Required Education: Minimum BS Information Security, IT Information Systems, IT engineering or equivalent
Required Years and Area of Experience: 2+ years of experience managing information security functions
Required Skills:
* Demonstrated manufacturing, government or military experiences in developing and deploying Information Security policies and associated tactical plans to deliver targeted results.
* Demonstrated manufacturing experience on a global basis international work experience in multiple plant environments and cultures.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; both global organization and executive presentation skills.
* Ability to identify and communicate and resolve issues through the full project lifecycle
Desired Skills:
