Job Summary
This position is responsible for monitoring the daily production of wells and production rates in order to optimize production by eliminating inefficiencies present in field production operations. This position is viewed as an expert Lease Operator and is capable of troubleshooting most production operation problems except those requiring engineering assistance.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
* Employ various techniques to minimize downtime, get wells back online and optimize production
* Manage and monitor artificial lift methods including plungers, electric submersible pumps, rods, etc
* May train Lease Operators and other field personnel in order to optimize Operators rather than wells
* Check production reports, maintains maintenance schedules, shoot fluid levels, diagnose failures, replace batteries and coordinate hot oil trucks
* Monitors the daily production of wells to determine the duties for each day
* Troubleshoots and communicates corrective actions taken to fix problems with wells
* Use real-time reporting and problem management skills to gauge based on issues what wells to visit
* Provides technical information using analytical tools and well files to provide solutions to production problems
* Assists with the collection and analysis of data from lease operator, foreman, and SCADA to locate production problems
* Reports and documents failures and maintenance information
* May perform relief duties for Lease Operators, Production Technicians, Instrument and Electrical Technicians, and Production Foreman in times of absence
* Work closely with Engineers and may act as an engineering assistant at times
* Performs all duties in accordance with Chesapeake' s Environmental, Health, and Safety rules and regulations
* Performs other duties as assigned
Job Specific Skills
* General knowledge of Artificial Lift Systems & Chemical programs
* General knowledge of well construction and completion
* Understanding of surface facilities and operation
* Ability to oversee basic workover operations
* Strong knowledge of gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure a machine is working properly
* General knowledge of oil and gas processes & production equipment
* Ability to perform on the job training
* General knowledge of analyzing and solving mechanical problems
* Ability to provide timely response to operational needs, while maintaining quality of work
* Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution
Education
* Minimum: High school diploma or GED
Experience
* Minimum: 0 - 2 years operator or related oilfield experience
Additional Qualifications
* Ability to possess a valid driver's license
* Must reside or willing to relocate within 85 miles of the office the position is posted for
