Hours: Full time; variable 3rd shift; Saturday - Tuesday 7:00 pm - 5:30 am (4 10-hour shifts); rotating holidays; union
Pay Rate: $17.00+ hourly plus shift differential
Lead Technician, Manufacturing Technicians, store and distribute blood products/samples. Maintain manual and computer records associated with production or testing. Comply with safety policies and procedures in the work area and use applicable protective equipment at all times to prevent exposure to potentially infectious blood and body fluids. Comply with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) where required.
Lead Technician, Manufacturing Job Responsibilities
* Manufacture, store and distribute blood products/samples. Meet the quality and quantity production and distribution goals established by the department.
* Operate, maintain and perform quality control checks on equipment. Ensure adequate inventory of required supplies.
* Perform data entry and operate the computer programs associated with component production, labeling, storage, and shipping.
* Maintain accurate, legible and complete manufacturing department records.
* Ensure products are suitable for release for distribution and are managed appropriately.
* Perform the quarantine and disposition of unacceptable products/samples.
* Perform good inventory management practices throughout the manufacturing and shipping process.
* May perform customer service or inventory management as requested.
* May perform management of sample tubes.
* Maintain accurate electronic and physical inventory locations for products/samples.
* Perform and participate in the management of complex manufacturing tasks.
* May perform supervisory functions for manufacturing processes from receipt of unprocessed blood through shipment of finished goods.
* Actively participate in problem solving and on cross-functional teams.
* May be a project lead.
* Participate in training of staff.
* Perform supervisory review of manufacturing records.
* Assume operational supervisor responsibilities when designated by a supervisor.
* Perform other related duties as required.
* The aforementioned responsibilities of the Lead Technician, Manufacturing describe the general nature and level of work and are not an exhaustive list.
Lead Technician, Manufacturing Job Qualifications
* Associates degree plus two years experience in a regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience required; or demonstrated successful performance as a Manufacturing Technician II.
* College studies or technical training in science or medical technology or the equivalent is preferred.
* Manufacturing technicians working in Distribution or Plasma Sample Management positions may require a valid drivers license.

Humanity
The Red Cross, born of a desire to bring assistance without discrimination to the wounded on the battlefield, endeavors—in its international and national capacity—to prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found. Its purpose is to protect life and health and to ensure respect for the human being. It promotes mutual understanding, friendship, cooperation and lasting peace amongst all peoples.

Neutrality

Independence
The Red Cross is independent. The national societies, while auxiliaries in the humanitarian services of their governments and subject to the laws of their respective countries, must always maintain their autonomy so that they may be able at all times to act in accordance with Red Cross principles.
