Amazon Music is growing with multiple offerings such as Amazon Music Free, HD and Unlimited, in over 40 countries. We are looking for a talented Senior Manager of Software Development to lead the Voice Growth Engineering team in Seattle.

Our team is at the frontier of driving growth on Alexa. We play a critical role in Amazon Musics rise in the digital streaming space. Our team focuses on building and improving products and features that reveal the best of Amazon Music to Alexa customers globally. We are fast and nimble, scaling after we have proved merit. We experiment with hypotheses through A/B tests and build personalized features that provide a more streamlined experience for Alexa customers. We believe in creating empowered and diverse teams where everyone can contribute to our product vision and roadmap.

As a senior manager of growth engineering, you will lead your team to build scalable systems to streamline and resolve customer friction, and deliver impactful results. You'll work directly with senior business leaders to find ways to exceed goals, and innovate to find ideal customer experiences for engaging customers with Amazon Music on Alexa. You will create a technical strategy for personalization using machine learning, while maintaining a high bar for operational excellence. Finally, as a member of the Music Growth leadership team, you will take on additional leadership responsibilities and inspire the entire Music Growth organization to grow further.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years of relevant engineering experience
5+ years of experience, managing engineers and managers
Experience in partnering with product and program management teams
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field, with 7+ years experience
Professional experience managing software development teams
Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design
Computer Science fundamentals in data structures
Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C, C++, C

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

4+ years of people management in software development and experience managing managers
6-10+ years of experience building production software
Experience delivering web services that work at a high scale and high level of availability
Experience with iterative, agile development methodologies (including scrum)
Excellence in verbal and written communication with peers and senior leaders
A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals (based on a BS or MS in CS or related field)
Excellent object-oriented design and systems architecture skills
Experience delivering high-scale software systems
Mastery of the tools of the trade, including a variety of modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Objective C) and open-source technologies
Experience providing high-performing, developer-centric tools and frameworks
