DESCRIPTION
Our goal is to make Alexa an intelligent assistant that delights customers by providing them information that they need when and where they need it most. In order to achieve this vision, Alexa must be able to proactively engage with customers in thoughtful, helpful, and delightful ways. We are looking for an entrepreneurial, experienced, creative and visionary Principal Product Manager to join our team and help lay out the vision and make Proactive Alexa a reality through ML, AI and some smart and innovative thinking. The perfect candidate will thrive with the challenge of creating intuitive customer experiences while balancing complex and competing priorities.
As a Senior Product Manager-Tech, you will define, execute, and deliver a product roadmap that adds great value to Alexas customers. You will participate in developing the strategy and vision for your space, and will own the definition of a product roadmap and features. This role is inherently cross-functional -- you will work closely with engineering, design, user experience, BI, operations, marketing, and executive teams to bring new solutions to customers. A successful candidate will have strong instincts to design features which delight customers, and be adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into high quality and simple customer experiences.
On a typical day you'll:
Work back from consumer and external developer customers to define a product that will delight customers
Partner with organization leaders to define the strategic vision for the Alexas Proactivity related product offerings
Own and define the product roadmap, managing tradeoffs and dependencies with key stakeholders
Drive product launches including working with business development team, public relations team, executives, customer support, engineering, documentation, marketing, and other product management team members
Dive deep into customer feedback to represent the voice of the customer to the engineering team and other stakeholders
Define and monitor business metrics to drive the teams progress towards goals
Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree or higher with a technical discipline
6+ years of professional experience
3+ years of consumer facing software product management experience
Experience defining strategic vision for technical products
Experience communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience
Experience working with stakeholders across both technical and business functions
Experience driving a product's go-to-market activities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MBA or Masters degree in related field from a top tier school
Proven track record taking ownership and working in cross-functional teams to successfully deliver results
Broad technical breadth and depth including familiarity with consumer technology, web services and back-end application infrastructure
Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives, and communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions
Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners
High attention to detail
History of teamwork and willingness to roll up ones sleeves to get the job done.
