The Amazon Gift Cards organization is looking for a software development manager who is passionate about managing large scale systems and working on impacting direct customer experience.We offer the Internet's premier gift card, and we are continuing to grow and expand our business with innovative stored value products.
As a member of the Amazon Gift Cards team, you will invent new features, and develop nextgen user experiences. We are a fast-paced environment, using agile methodology and lightweight SOA design patterns. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
Experience in partnering with product and program management teams
3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
BS in computer science or equivalent work experience
4+ years of software development experience
Experience in People management and maintaining a strong operational team
Possess deep knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as object oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
Demonstrated the ability to take a project from scoping requirements through to actual launch of project
Demonstrated the ability to develop business-critical software using modern programming language such as Java, Javascript.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MS or PhD is computer science or equivalent preferred
Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
