DESCRIPTION
As a Software Development Manager (SDM), youll help to build and manage services that detect and automate the mitigation of cybersecurity threats across Amazons infrastructure. Youll manage software development engineers, security engineers and data scientists to develop innovative security solutions at massive scale. Our services protect the AWS cloud for all customers and preserves our customers trust in us. Youll get to use the full power and breadth of AWS technologies to build services that proactively protect every single AWS customer, both internally and externally, from security threats not many teams can say that!

environment that enables individuals to adjust their work schedule to accommodate personal needs. Our team is distributed, though most of the team is located in Maryland and Virginia. We generally keep core business hours of 9:30 EST - 4:30EST, while allowing flexibility as needed. At AWS Security, its not about clocking hours, its about delivering results.
On-Call Responsibility
This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every two months. We dont like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we dont get paged for the same issue twice.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent work experience
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience developing, maintaining, and scaling production software,
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in managing and building teams (including coaching and mentoring)
Minimum of two years (2) experience using big data analytics and orchestration to address security threats and vulnerabilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
BS or MS in a STEM related field
Ability to acquire AWS Solutions Architect (Associate level) certification
Experience with common attack scenarios within cloud computing environments and has used a security framework, such as MITRE ATT&CK, to define and analyze security incidents.
