Clinical Registration Assistant
Location: Orange City, FL

Work Hours/Shift: Full time; Rotating schedule, two days on, two days off (Monday-Friday 8am-8pm), alternate weekends (required to work every other weekend, hours are 8am-5pm on Saturdays and Sundays), and some holidays
You Will Be Responsible For:
* Demonstrates through behavior AdventHealths Service Standards of Know Me, Love Me, Make it Easy and Keep Me Safe.
* Drives customer service initiatives by creating and owning the patient experience.
* Performs properly and legibly documents and reports all procedures and assessments in accordance with department policy.
* Communicates with the patient or their guarantor to obtain demographic, employment, insurance, and current medical condition information in order to perform accurate registration
* Obtains client information for workers comp and corporate accounts, and verifies authorization and service(s) requested
* Verifies insurance eligibility and determines accurate up-front collection amount
* Prepares, processes, and files the medical record for each patient as required by patient type for documentation by physician and medical personnel
* Verifies diagnosis and procedural codes are entered into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
* Utilizing age-specific guidelines, assesses patient during clinical check-in, documents pertinent medical information and vital signs. Assesses for signs of abuse or neglect.
* Application of simple dressings and splints as ordered by provider
* Performs POC (point of care) tests including but not limited to COVID, Flu, Strep, Urinalysis, etc. Urine drug screen collections in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Florida Drug Free Workplace Guidelines.
* Appropriately complete check-out duties and relays instructions/care to the patient or family Performs required Quality Control checklist to ensure safety of the patient
* Follows CDC guidelines, infection prevention practices, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* CPR Certification
* Fire Fighter/Medic OR EMT Program OR
* Phlebotomy Program OR
* CNA OR
* Graduate of accredited medical assistant program
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
* CPR Certification
* Fire Fighter/Medic OR EMT Program OR
* Phlebotomy Program OR
* CNA OR
* Must be currently certified and maintain certification by one of the following:
* American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) for Certified Medical Assistants
* American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) for Clinical Medical Assistant Certification
* American Medical Technologists (AMT) for Registered Medical Assistant
* National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) for Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant
* National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) for National Certified Medical Assistant
* National Health Career Association (NHA) for Registered Clinical Medical Assistant
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
* Demonstrated ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking, and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements
* Ability to operate a computer, copier, fax, and scanner
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and others of diverse backgrounds
* Ability to request and collect co-pays and outstanding balances
* Comprehensive knowledge of general medical assistant practices
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Clinical Registration Assistant under supervision of the Practice Manager is responsible for registering employees with appropriate demographic data and billing information and assisting with clinical patient flow by performing designated patient care duties. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
