Summary:

Among other functions, the Global Strategy Team (GST) at Boston Scientific acts as an internal management consulting capability, leading the analysis of key factors and forces impacting our businesses worldwide. Examples of areas of engagement include: (1) the analysis of new markets under consideration for entry via internal development or M&A; (2) shifts in site of service for procedures in which our products are used; (3) exploration of new technologies that might represent threats or opportunities to our businesses including technologies related to Digital Enablement; (4) analysis of new and existing competitors; and (5) analysis of important developments in key geographic markets around the world. In addition, the GST plays a key role in live M&A processes, often leading individual due diligence streams especially on larger deals. Many of our projects involve close collaboration with our Divisional and Regional colleagues and we strive to be a thought-partner of choice to senior leadership throughout the company. Most of the GSTs work projects read out to Divisional or Regional Presidents, our CEO and CFO, as well as the Boston Scientific Board of Directors.

The Senior Manager, Global Strategy will act as an Engagement Manager on the BSC GST, assuming primary day-to-day responsibility for the execution of specific projects under the direct supervision of the Vice President, Global Strategy and Venture Capital.

Your responsibilities include:

* Analysis of New Markets and Topics Impacting BSCs Global Businesses: Help to lead the Strategy Teams internal consulting function that tackles key tactical topics of potential impact to BSCs global businesses. Such topics include analysis of new technologies, digital enablement tools and approaches, white space areas of potential future interest to BSC, and structural changes to BSCs markets worldwide, including site of service shifts, national tenders, buyer consolidation, etc.
* Strategic Support of BD: Work with senior BD leaders to prioritize BD targets across global and pan-divisional opportunity set; provide direct tactical support of specific larger live BD deals, often in the form of ownership of particular due diligence work-streams; potential direct involvement with BSC asset divestitures.
* Portfolio Analysis and Optimization: Analysis of existing business portfolio and of R&D pipeline. Cross-divisional analysis and optimization of R&D spend.
* Analysis of New and Existing Competitors to BSC: Closely monitor BSCs direct competitors worldwide both established and emerging. Occasional deep dives on individual competitors for read out to EC and other senior audiences.
* Direct Supervision of Senior Analyst, Corporate Strategy. Once the Senior Manager of Corporate Strategy has acclimated to their new role, it is anticipated that they will begin to directly manage the Senior Analyst, Corporate Strategy.
What we're looking for in you:
Education:
* MBA degree preferred with a focus or concentration in finance or financial analysis
Experience:
* Minimum of 4 years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, and similar fields
* Experience managing small high-performing teams in completing project-based work on time and in a thoughtful and high-quality way.
* Direct experience working in or with clients in the medical device industry is helpful but not required
Qualifications:
