Equipment Engineering Project Manager

About the Role:

The Equipment Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for the top-level leadership of the equipment portion of new product development projects, VIPs, site transfers and other Maple Grove manufacturing project initiatives. Ultimately, the Project Manager is responsible for the seamless transition of products into manufacturing. Project size will range from small one-off tasks to large and line extension activities. Other projects may include transfers from other sites or corporate initiatives. Multiple projects of various sizes will be handled simultaneously by the PM. Cross functional Equipment Engineering, Process Development, and Operations team members will be led by the Project Manager with the goal of delivering quality solutions on time and within budget.

Your Responsibilities Include:
* Must have demonstrated strong leadership capabilities across multiple functions, an excellent ability to communicate at many levels and an ability to quickly and effectively form strong cross-functional working relationships.
* Actively engages with Process Development and Operations on strategic direction and new technology efforts
* Works cross functionally to influence, coordinate and drive activities related to Equipment Engineering deliverables.
* Participates on cross functional project teams to develop clear specifications, influence project direction, evaluates feasibility of concepts through prototyping and risk assessment activities.
* Applies project management skills to coordinate deliverables, develop and manage timelines, and develop estimates and manage budgets.
* Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies project problems and obtains solutions such as allocation of resources or impact of changing project requirements.
* Leads and directs Equipment development team(s) on Equipment/Software needs of New Product Development/Technology Development/Operations programs.
* Identifies, anticipates and manages risks critical to project success. Facilitates cross functional risk mitigation activities.
* Provides timely and appropriate communication to site leadership and stakeholders.
* Partner with external vendors to deliver equipment and develop technology that fulfills project requirements.
* Generate high-level plans and schedules on larger projects
* Assess business risk and prioritize tasks among many activities as multiple projects will be assigned
* Identify, communicate, and manage moderate to high levels of technical risk
* Delegate and manage tasks among team members as appropriate to their skill level and risk to the project
* Elevate issues and clear barriers to team progress will be tantamount to success in this role
* Resolve conflicts with team members and involve functional management as required to ensure timely project completion
* Make occasional presentations to upper management

What Were Looking For:

Required Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree with 7 plus years of experience, or masters degree with 5 plus years of experience
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Self-starter that can work with minimal supervision
* Demonstrated ability to lead and work together with a cross-functional, multi-site team.
* Demonstrated excellence in data analysis, project planning, and execution

Preferred Qualifications:
* PMP certification
* Strong organization, execution and communication skills.
* Candidate to have strong leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships within project teams and customer.
* Technical experience in machine design or process development a definite plus
