Position Description

The main function of this position is the day-to-day management of terminal maintenance requirements to include daily maintenance, Preventative Maintenance following DOT, PHMSA, API, and other regulatory and standards setting agencies recommendations, as well as small project work and management. This person must have general troubleshooting knowledge in various disciplines including control systems, rotating equipment, electrical systems, and pollution control devices. This person must be able to manage technicians and vendors to run terminal maintenance in a safe and efficient manner. This person will be responsible for budget management, acquiring quotes for scopes of work, and asset management record keeping utilizing Maximo. This person will work with the Terminal Management TEAM to ensure asset compliance and readiness.

Key Responsibility Areas:
Daily understanding and ability to report on the Asset Readiness of the terminals assets
Manage with operations the coordination/prioritization of the Preventive Maintenance programs, unscheduled repairs and issues reported on Pre Use Inspections; utilize Maximo to manage and track asset history
Understanding of the maintenance budget, cost of repairs and ensure correct invoice coding for proper cost tracking; participate in routine financial discussions to ensure budget targets are met
Must have an understanding of the terminals repair capabilities and determine when outside vendor support is required
Work with purchasing to ensure that outside vendors are compliant and have the ability to work onsite at the terminal; ISN network experience is helpful
Manage internal and external repairs at the best possible cost, least amount of downtime and provides the highest level of productivity for operations
Delegate technicians work load based on repair priorities and capabilities
Check repairs to make sure the unit is in an Operational Condition
Make sure all PMs and annual inspections are completed on time; knowledge of PSM/RMP, PHMSA, DOT, and API standards and recommendations will be a plus
Be able to assist in sourcing parts, determination of correct parts for critical inventory needs and appropriate levels
Ensure all Kinder Morgan training requirements are completed on time
Ongoing measurement and evaluation of technicians performance and ability; understanding of Pipeline system maintenance management is necessary to maintain OQ (Operator Qualification) and Right of Way (ROW) compliance
Utilize the Computer Maintenance Management Program (Maximo) to track labor, parts and fuel cost
Assist in managing onsite capital projects
Ensure that the maintenance group is run in a safe manner utilizing all required PPE, safety devices, and have a complete understanding of the Kinder Morgan's JHA process and safety policies; Lock Out Tag Out and permitting experience a plus

Position Requirements

Experience in managing an equipment service shop and technicians
Responsibility of management of a maintenance department's annual budget
Experience working on all types of equipment. Specifically cranes, fork trucks, processing equipment, rail car movers, and other heavy type equipment
Ability to troubleshoot and instruct on complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Basic understanding and diagnostic ability of diesel engines

Education:
Associates Degree required in a Heavy Equipment Program or related experience

Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience as a technician and minimum of 2 years managing technicians
