Position Description
Kinder Morgan, Inc. is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. We own an interest in or operate approximately 84,000 miles of pipelines and 157 terminals. Our pipelines transport natural gas, refined petroleum products, crude oil, condensate, CO2 and other products, and our terminals trans load and store liquid commodities including petroleum products, ethanol and chemicals, and bulk products, including petroleum coke, metals and ores.
Job Responsibilities:
The duties assigned to the position (reporting to the Payroll Supervisor) are:
* Processing of multi state bi-weekly payroll in an accurate and timely manner
* Processing pay accurately for new hires, transfers, terminations and pay rate changes within a streamlined structure
* Entering and verifying direct deposit data and Federal, State and/or Local tax withholding elections
* Calculate and process manual check payments for missing time, retro pay and/or additional earnings
* Detail oriented in reviewing timesheets and payroll audits
* Research and respond to Payroll questions and concerns from associates as required
* Assist in development and maintaining internal process documentation as required
* Perform other payroll task as deemed necessary and assist in special projects as required
* Act as a back up to other team members as needed
Absence Management:
* Receives notifications and payment reports on employees on leave and ensures proper payments to employees.
* Work with Disability Management on any process changes.
* Responds to questions from employees regarding leave pay and coordinates with Disability Management as needed.
Position Requirements
Job Requirements:
* Minimum of 3-5 years' experience processing payroll for a multi-state employer with multiple locations
* Experience with in-house payroll processing using an integrated HR/Payroll software package
* Experience with a web based time and attendance reporting system
* Knowledge of state and federal wage and tax laws and overtime requirements
* Ability to analyze and manipulate data using advanced excel skills
* Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines with little supervision
Other Qualifications:
* High School Education Required. Associate level degree preferred
* Working knowledge of payroll best practices
* Must be detail-oriented, professional, dependable and have excellent customer service skills
* Ability to maintain a confidential work environment
* Strong work ethic and team player
* Job level will be determined based on the chosen candidates experience and skills
