Training Specialist - Manufacturing

Job Description

This key role provides Organizational Development, Training and Human Resources support for assigned locations. The role facilitates, supports and develops various training activities related to multiple employee demographic groups with a heavy focus on manufacturing training and apprentice programs, in addition to performing other general HR duties as needed.

Core Responsibilities:

* Coordinate, facilitate and/or assist in various training activities within the facility (i.e. apprentice programs, manufacturing training, safety compliance, orientation programs, job knowledge, and leadership development)
* Apply standard evaluation methodologies for measuring training effectiveness and analyze evaluation data. Create reports to present findings to mid-level management or HR partners. Make recommendations to partners for changes on how to improve employee performance or adjust training programs to maximize effectiveness and execute on those changes
* Work with site leadership to schedule and monitor training activities that may utilize other internal training partners such as Managers, Supervisors or Hourly trainers
* Prepare and distribute training materials while also maintaining and updating course rosters for each course delivered
* Consult with business unit to gain knowledge of their daily operations, define their training needs and make recommendations to help them achieve their goals
* Responsible for guidance to all employees to insure consistent adherence to HR policies, procedures, and practices as well as effectively supporting and fostering the company's Open Door Policy
* May support the employment function, which includes recruiting and screening of applicants, facilitating the use of any temporary employment agencies and managing the job posting system for internal/external candidates in accordance with company and legal guidelines
* Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned



Required Skills

* Role requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Industrial Relations or equivalent
* The role also requires a minimum of 2 years of applicable experience in Human Resources; candidates with prior Organizational Development and/or Training experience are granted special consideration
* Formal education requirements may be substituted with advanced years of experience
