Position Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic Technical Trainer to educate people in legal document processing. As a Technical Trainer you must be knowledgeable in legal processing using a variety of legal software, tools, Microsoft Office suite, and possess solid technical aptitude. Additional strength requirements include excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with the ability to explain key concepts and complex subject matters using both a clear and motivating approach. Proficiency in curriculum development and facilitation is a must.
Responsibilities
Able to understand the business strategy and goals to execute key duties and responsibilities to meet goals and objectives. Must be able to re-define processes if needed and provide subject matter expertise when working on assignments that typically are enterprise reaching or have high visibility for the organization.
* Facilitate training courses from a range of curriculums including core skills training for new employees, professional development courses that focus on continuous learning for existing employees, and other training based on business needs.
* Collaborate with account managers to understand training needs and best practices.
* Train document processors, proofreaders and coordinators on legal document processing that includes creating and delivering training courses for all aspects of technical work through coursework, lectures, group discussions, and presentations, including creating recorded training sessions and delivering web-based training.
* Devise technical training programs for various Word Processing techniques such as formatting, editing, styling documents, printing, and conversion to Microsoft Word or print to image (PDF).
* Produce training schedules and classroom agenda based on Client/Business requirements
* Prepare training material (presentations, worksheets, practice material, quick reference guides, etc.)
* Track and report data on completed courses, areas of opportunity, and growth
* Observe and evaluate training program results
* Determine overall effectiveness of curriculum and enhance materials as necessary.
* Convey recommendations to management on how to improve employee performance to various stakeholders.
* Participates in new client engagements and train the trainer initiatives for new and existing clients.
* Direct supervision of training team.
* Establishing departmental standards, developing team members and ensuring process adherence.
* Responsible for addressing training needs and developing training programs.
* Analyze and track training effectiveness, and proposing changes to training as needed.
* Responsible for staying current with best practices as it pertains to local training needs.
* Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Job Knowledge & Skills

* Bachelor degree in education field or similar or demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Able to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people when completing work assignments.
* Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
* Prior experience using software applications related to word processing, presentation development and the ability to learn new software.
* Expert knowledge of legal word processing tasks, including creating TOAs, TOCs, inserting automated cross references, converting PDFs to Word using a variety of software, applying Word styles using macros, troubleshooting problem documents including redlines and documents containing multiple numbering schemes, style separators, cross references, and other automated fields.
* Experience redacting, revising, and bookmarking PDFs using Adobe Acrobat.
* Experience creating and editing a variety of legal documents, including transactional documents, SEC filings, Patent documents, and litigation documents, including briefs for state courts, federal district courts, and the Supreme Court.
* MOS Certification preferred.
* CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+) certification is a plus.
* Proven experience as a technical trainer or ability to train based on work knowledge.
* Knowledge of modern training techniques, adult learning styles, and aptitude to self-teach technical subjects.
* Experience in designing technical course content.
* Proven supervisory experience in a fast-paced, high-volume position
