Shift Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Performs manual and clerical duties related to the shipment and receipt of materials, supplies, equipment and finished products shipped via internal freight fleet or third party LTL carrier. Maintain necessary files and documentation. May perform activities related to load planning of outbound trucks to meet customer delivery requirements and cost parameters. Utilize small hand tools and operates material handling equipment including forklifts, skids, pallet handlers, hand trucks, etc. to stage materials and load trucks. Typical shipping activities include checking goods against shipping documents and authorizations. Pack goods for shipment according to specifications, equipment characteristics, transportation methods and routes. Verify identification and quality of product, prepare bills of lading, post weight and shipping charges, stamp, stencil or attach information and shipping instructions on containers, load shipment onto trucks, and maintain inventory of cartons, tapes, crates, clamps, foam and other packing material. Typical receiving activities include taking receipt of raw materials, components or equipment and unload from trucks primarily using a forklift truck and pallet jacks. Check incoming materials against bills of lading, packing slips, etc., verifying nomenclature, identification and quantity of the materials. Maintaining records of goods received and damaged goods. May be tasked with performing ancillary duties related to Production Expediting coordinating the movement of materials throughout the plant.



Required Skills

* Tracking the production work flow, by working with internal customers (Managers, Customer Service, and Scheduler) to coordinate daily shipping logistics, and arrange for local delivery service, as well as LTL and expedited ship outs.
* Creating electronic packing slips and bill of ladings.
* Validating KLTL and Expedited Freight ship outs.
* Executing small package drop shipments, to include batching UPS and Fedex labels for high volume drop lists.
* Performs manual and clerical duties related to the preparation and shipment of customer samples, components and finished products mailed primarily through Fed Ex, UPS, USPS or other similar carrier.
* Typical shipping activities include: checking goods against shipping documents and authorizations, packing goods for shipment according to specifications, preparing bills of lading, posting weight and shipping charges and attach information and shipping instructions on to boxes.
* Performs activities related to the receiving materials such as unpacking of goods; checking against bills of lading, packing slips, etc., identification and quantity; maintaining records of goods received; rejects damaged, excess or misdirected goods, routes material to inspection, stores or other destinations.
* May occasionally perform activities related to the receiving materials such as unpacking of goods; checking against bills of lading, packing slips, etc., identification and quantity; maintaining records of goods received; rejects damaged, excess or misdirected goods.
* Required to operate a forklift truck.

Required Experience

Experience in Shipping/Receiving is required.

* Must have very good knowledge of technology to include computers and software programs such as MS Office word processing, spreadsheets or other programs specific to the job in order to complete duties successfully.
* Must have very good oral and written communication skills.
* Requires very good organizational skills sufficient to accomplish work by established deadlines and ability to coordinate phases of work with others.
* Experience with UPS and FedEx online shipping systems required.
* Ability to operate a Fork Truck and lift 20 lbs.
* Ability to work overtime when needed.
