Position Summary

The Continuous Improvement Engineer instills a Process of Excellence culture through involving, educating, and leading all levels and functions in CI/Lean principles, concepts, methodology, initiatives and tools. Must possess the knowledge and skills required to facilitate continuous improvements in key processes.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

* Observes and supports RathGibsons health, safety and environmental policies.
* Follows work instructions and departmental procedures to perform essential functions of job.
* Work with site leadership teams using CI/Lean tools and analytical skills to identify, prioritize and lead CI projects or activities.
* Identify stakeholders and resources; reprioritize as necessary to address changes in business.
* Facilitate crossfunctional project groups to develop and implement process improvements resulting in increased productivity and cost reductions.
* Designs, implements, champions new Lean strategies and program elements and framework to keep pace with growth and business changes.
* Develop CI project plans, with management; identify needed resources, alignment, milestones, deliverables, project prioritization and tracking.
* Develop and provide CI/Lean training.
* Identifies and communicates training requirements; identifies and secures resources.
* Mentor, influence and coach project teams to facilitate culture change. Ensures alignment of initiative, CI principles, concepts and methodology.
* Organizes, generates relevant data and prepares project scopes.
* Other duties as assigned.

Experience & Education

* BS or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline
* Practical experience with implementation and sustaining of CI programs: LSS,OEE
* Ability to work flexible hours as required.
* Experience with crossfunction communication and teamwork in a manufacturing environment.
* Black Belt certification (LSS), a plus

Required Skills

* Clear and concise interpersonal, verbal and written communication.
* Proficient using MS Office Suite: Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook
