Position Title: Senior Manager, Trade Marketing
Primary Location Florida - Boca Raton
Reports to: Director, Trade Marketing
The Senior Trade Marketing Manager will work closely with cross functional teams to build and deliver category and channel strategies that drive growth within the Appliances and Cookware division. A successful candidate must be a strategic thought leader that provides strong data-based insights to all levels of the organization. They are also expected to collaborate with other teams from sales planning, sales, finance, brand marketing, and project management. They will own communicating and faciliting distribution strategies, pricing and margin requirements for new product development. They should have a deep understanding of the route to market in all channels. Experience with Walmart, Target and Amazon a big plus.
Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Product Lifecycle Management/New Product Launches
* Work with sales and marketing to identify and provide fact-based metrics/volumes for all stages of GKM
* Align with Finance partner on financials (pricing, customer margin, gross margin) for new items in the marketplace
* Lead sku rationalization process for the specific category
* Engages in S&OP process to provide input to
* Improve forecast accuracy
* Recommend ideas to reduce finished goods inventory and E&O, and identify unproductive SKU's.
* Execute and monitor exits and changeovers
* Provide insight to marketing on category/customer insights for the future innovation funnel and roadmap
Marketplace Management
* Understands business, category and customer priorities and uses the planning process to find common ground.
* Assists with the recommendation of priorities and drives synergies across customers and brands within area of responsibility.
* Provides category recommendations to optimize performance of shelf set, such as optimal SKU assortment, merchandising and shelf/ catalog layout.
* Work cross functionally to deliver the national promotional calendar
* Collaborate with Sales and Brand to provide best in class content for Line Reviews (Category Overview, Selling Stories, etc.)
* Be able to articulate product strategy and priorities to both internal and external stakeholders.
* Deep understanding of customer POS sales, promotional pricing and trends
Pricing and Trade Fund Guidance
* Recommends channel perspective and needs for pricing.
* Analyzes account pricing and distribution for NWL and competitive brands.
* Communicates retailer margin and pricing expectations
* Analyzes channel promotional pricing and pricing activity in line with programming requirements and cost-to-serve, to ensure they are within Brand pricing guardrails. Highlights any inconsistencies to management.
* Analyzes NWL brand and competitive price within area of responsibility. Recommends potential pricing actions.
* Understands what trade funds or customer program spend is available or needed for programming.
Market, Shopper, and Channel / End-User Insights
* Compile and analyze market, shopper / end-user, and channel knowledge gaps and creates a summary for the business to review by category
* Manage timelines and lead deliverables for all line reviews.
* Analyzes profiles of competitors using primary and secondary research and data.
* Gathers competitive and marketplace intelligence and share with the organization, ultimately constructing a competitive profile and comp shop analysis.
Qualifications
* 5-7 years of experience with a CPG company or major retailer (Trade Marketing, Sales, Category Management).
* Proven ability to think strategically and convince others of your ideas.
* Lead a team and mentor others.
* Advanced analytical ability with a complete understanding of common retail sales metrics.
* Advanced proficiency with Excel.
* Experience with BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Oracle/OBIEE and IRi Unify.
* Fluent in English (verbal and written)
* Up to 25% travel may be required
