Position Title: Material Technician/Bulk Handler, 6a-6p
Reports to: Technical Supervisor
Location: Winchester, VA
Job Summary:
This position is a technical role reporting to the technical supervisor. In this role, you will continuously monitor and maintain all incoming bulk resin tanks and railcars of resin. Communication with CSX, the resin co-coordinator, receiving co-coordinator, and the receiving control center is required to effectively receive and place incoming shipments of resin. Bulk material handlers will also be responsible all scrap plastic generated on the factory floor.
Job Duties:
Monitor resin inside tanks and outside silos, report silo readings, complete necessary paperwork, and verify Certificates of Analysis.
Match incoming resin railcar and bulk tanker deliveries and oversee placement of incoming railcars and bulk resin
Hookup and unhook railcars, inspect new arriving railcars for damage to compartment valves, operate the rail siding de-railer, unlock, open and relock gates at railcar entrance.
Coordinate and perform transfer of resin from silo to Gaylord for purposes of offsite manufacturing and make sufficient room for overages of incoming bulk tanker delivered resin
Prepares, identifies and tags railcars with material/railcar identification tags
Prepares resin inventory for inventory control as requested
Cleans scrap grinders, grinds reclaimed scrap plastic and labels Gaylord's with resin number, date and color to prepare for storage in high bay warehouse
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Qualified associates must pass Technical Test Battery
Must be able to work alone and within a team based structure
Associates must work within established safety guidelines, company policies and departmental procedures
Use of hand tools
Internal candidates cannot have more than 3 1 /2 points in attendance OR 1st Written Warning in last 3 months or 2nd written warning in last 6 months or a Final in the last year
